Extracellular Matrix Protein Explorer

This dashboard explores the evolutionary history of five major extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins by comparing homologs across humans, Clytia hemisphaerica, and other early-diverging animal lineages. This exploration provides insight into how these proteins emerged, diversified, and acquired new structures and functions over evolutionary time, while revealing that many of their core structural features and biological roles have been remarkably conserved across hundreds of millions of years of animal evolution.
